Connacht GAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Connacht GAA is offering a scholarship to pursue a specialised full-time one-year Masters research degree at the University of Galway commencing in September 2025. The value of the scholarship will fully cover the programme fees of the successful candidate plus an allowance of €500 for research expenses. Progression to PhD studies may be a possibility.

University of Galway's University of Sanctuary scholarships

University of Galway  has a number of undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships available via its University of Sanctuary Scholarship Scheme. Applications opened on 28 June 2021. Full details here. Application information here.

Springboard & HCI Pillar 1 funded courses

Universities Ireland North/South Postgraduate Scholarships 

Universities Ireland are offering four scholarships to students who have been accepted to undertake a recognised Master’s degree or are entering the first year of a PhD programme at a university in the island of Ireland that is not in the same jurisdiction as the university where they have previously studied. Galway Wind Park Scholarships Fund

The aim of the Galway Wind Park Community Fund is to maximise value and impact for local communities and people in the long-term. One of the most ways we can do this is through powering education and skills development. The Galway Wind Park Scholarship is designed to provide third-level education opportunities for local people to gain qualifications and ultimately build strong careers.  Applications will open in October 2024. Government of Ireland Scholarships

The Irish Research Council Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme provides outstanding students with the opportunity to direct their own research at the early-career stage, working with a supervisor, in their chosen area of interest. Information here

The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships scheme provides high calibre students from non-EU/EEA countries with the opportunity to study full-time in Ireland for a period of one year. Information here.

educations.com Taught Masters in Europe Scholarship (& new MBA Scholarship)

On offer a scholarship of up to €5000 to help cover tuition fees. The scholarship is open to students from any country who will be studying a Master’s degree abroad at a European university. More information here.

(Limited Programmes) Fees Scholarship Support

As a further effort to enhance access and participation opportunities for unemployed and low income groups, University of Galway has approved an Adult Learning Tuition Scholarship Scheme to reduce fees for applicants in receipt of Job Seekers Benefit, Job Seekers Allowance, One-Parent Family Payment, Disability Allowance, Community Employment Scheme, Carer’s Allowance, or Social Insurance Contribution Credits, who wish to enrol for part-time Degree, Diploma and Masters courses provided by the University, and who meet Department of Social Protection income thresholds.

These awards offer some scholarships at post-doctoral, postgraduate, and undergraduate level.

Global Study Awards

The Global Study Awards recognises studying abroad as a positively life changing experience for many students, opening their minds to alternative ways of personal life and professional career, as well as promoting intercultural understanding and tolerance.

The Award prize will be applied toward the cost of tuition fees in the first instance, paid directly to the Higher Education Institution that the successful candidate will attend.

If tuition fees are below the maximum individual award fund of £10,000, the remaining funds may be allocated per diem for living costs for a maximum of 52 weeks starting from when the student first registered at the higher education institution. Awards are to a maximum value of £10,000
