Objectives

  • Analysis of measured surface ozone trends in Ireland.
  • Investigating the observational capacity (in-situ and remote) and modeling tools that can be used to elucidate drivers of ozone pollution events specific to the Irish domain.
  • Model measurement comparison identify the role of precursor emissions, ozone transport, and precursor. transport in representative sites in Ireland & assess source region contribution to Irish ozone pollution.
  • Future scenarios assess the impact of a changing climate on ozone pollution relative to Ireland.
  • Effective two-way engagement and communication with stakeholders, including the scientific community, policymakers, and the public.
  • Develop tools to educate and address public misconceptions regarding surface ozone, health and climate impact, and relation to emissions.
