Biography

Patrick Browne (FFNMRCSI, RANP, RNP, RGN, PG Dip (Advanced Nursing Practice), PG Cert (Nurse/Midwife Prescribing), MHSc (Health Services Research), BSc Parkinson’s Care, BNS General Nursing, and Dip. Nursing Studies (General)) has also completed short course diplomas in Anatomy and Physiology, Human Resources, Nursing Leadership and Care Management, Operational Management, and Workplace Health and safety, Legal Studies and Teaching skills for Educators, Manufacturing and Product Design.
His current appointment is as, Ireland’s first and only, Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner Neurology for movement disorders, in Galway University Hospitals. Current research interests include assistive and therapeutic technologies in Parkinson’s disease and service delivery methodologies and innovations. He is a member of: Galway Neuroscience Centre, Irish Chapter Director of the World Parkinson’s Program, the Irish National Steering and Advisory Committee for palliative care in Parkinson’s disease. He is a member of the International Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Society Telemedicine Task Force and former Co-Chair (European Section) of the Non-Physician Health Care Professionals Special Interest Group – International Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Society.
