Biography

Noreen has experience in teaching and higher education since 2014.
She holds several module leadership roles as a Lecturer Above the Bar in General Nursing at the School of Nursing and Midwifery. She is the year one programme lead for the Bachelor of Nursing Science (General). 

Noreen is a lifelong learner with a PGDip and Cert in Education in Professional Practice from Northumbria University and an MSc in Cardiac & Respiratory Nursing from Imperial College London. Her extensive experience as a Clinician and an Academic in Australia, Ireland, and the UK has given her a broad perspective on nursing education.
 
Before joining the University of Galway, Noreen was an Assistant Lecturer at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology and a Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University. At Northumbria University, she developed and evaluated curricula, assessments, and learning outcomes for nursing programs. She also worked briefly as a clinical educator at La Trobe University, Melbourne. 

She also collaborated with academic and clinical partners to enhance the quality and relevance of nursing education. Her core competencies include undergraduate teaching, international collaboration and teaching, curriculum development, research supervision, partnership building, and patient safety.

Noreen is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students can thrive and achieve their academic and professional goals. Her dedication to nursing education is evident in the quality of her work and her passion for positively impacting the nursing profession.
