Lead reviewer [with Begley C, Carroll M, Clarke M.] for a systematic review titled `Integrated (alongside) midwifery-led models of care versus medical-led models of care for childbearing women¿. The protocol for this review has been written and the review is at an advanced stage and forms part of my doctoral thesis. |

Established and moderate the `irish-midwifery-egroup¿ electronic discussion list. The purpose of this group is to share and discuss information informally and ultimately to disseminate information among Irish midwives and other health care professionals on issues related to midwifery, childbirth and maternity services in Ireland. The eGroup is funded by the Dept. Health & Children. |
|
I am part of a team (Murphy-Lawless J, Lalor J, Huntley-Moore S) that designed and provided three one-day `Critical Appraisal Skills Training Workshops¿ for women from Dundalk, Drogheda, Cavan, Monaghan and Meath. The aim of the workshops was to (a) help women participate effectively in the maternity Services and (b) develop and test a model for the provision of this education. We are currently seeking funding to further develop and implement the programme with the help of the women who attended the workshops. |

I have provided and continue to provide consultancy services on a voluntary basis to a number of consumer groups advocating for choice in maternity care including Cuidiú-The Irish Childbirth Trust, Clare Maternity Services Awareness Group and Kilkenny Maternity Services Group. My work is varied and includes advising on strategy, commenting on documents, sourcing and sharing information. |
