Biography

Vincent is a graduate of NUI Galway (1994) with a degree in German and English, followed by an MA Degree in German Language and Literature which he completed in NUI in l997. He has been teaching in the German Department since l998 and completed the Professional Postgraduate Certificate course in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in 2008 along with the Diploma in Academic Practice in 2014 run by the Celt Department at NUI Galway.
He is Course Coordinator of the Applied Beginners German course which is available to Commerce, Science and Law students. He also teaches German Language for Commerce students from First to Final Year and First Arts Students. Tuition involves conversation classes to prepare students for the Erasmus Year in Germany and for interviews and presentations before completion of their Commerce Degree course.
Since 2008 Vincent is the Pastoral Coordinator of the B.A. Connect Degree course in Theatre and Performance from First to Final Year. He is now involved in the Access programme where he teaches acting methods and approaches for communication skills. He is also coordinator of the German Society and is a Co-Director and actor in the German Drama Group of NUI Galway.
In 2014 Vincent was awarded the NUIG President’s Award for Teaching Excellence.
