Biography

Dr Stephen Quirke is a lecturer in mathematics education at the University of Galway. His research interests include out-of-field mathematics teaching, teacher identity, curriculum reform and professional development.

  Description

Project Reference Group (https://www.scope-t.org/reference-group) member for the Shifting the Culture of Out-of-field Professional Education for Teachers¿ (SCOPE-T) project. This project, funded by the Australian Research Council for 2024-2026 [$287,119], aims to model an education system that would diversify the expertise of teachers as part of attending to long-term teacher shortage.
