On the 10 - 14 May, during Open Scholarship Week (OSW2021) staff, students, members of the public and a variety of other stakeholders came together to talk about changing the ways scholarly information is openly communicated, shared and used. OSW2021 offered a diverse range of talks and workshops representing many different perspectives and disciplines on Open practices in research and education. The event was be recorded for Open enthusiasts as well as for everyone who wants to find out what Open Scholarship is all about.

OSW2021 was co-organised by the Open Scholarship Community Galway and the NUI Galway Library.


OSCG Open Scholarship Competition

In association with Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology & Lero, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software Changing research & education for the better: How my research contributes to Open Scholarship.

Masters, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral researchers were invited to submit an abstract and short presentation to the Open Scholarship Community Galway (OSCG) competition on Open Scholarship. OSCG is a group dedicated to promoting Open Scholarship and Open Science in the West of Ireland.

GMIT partnered with OSCG for the purposes of an international competition in the area of Open Scholarship at the Open Scholarship Week 2021 (OSW2021). Research students from Ireland and beyond were invited to submit their findings for consideration for the first Open Scholarship Research Prize.

Prizes were presented to the equivalent value of €500 for First Place, €300 for Second Place and €200 for Third Place.
