Research
Within the School, research in its ten Research Centres/Clusters spans all levels of biological organization, from molecular and cell biology, through research at the organismal level, to the study of populations, communities and ecosystems, with integrated links to geoscience and energy-related research.

The School of Natural Sciences is defined by our research. The School generates c. €10m of research income annually and offers exciting M.Sc. by research and Ph.D. programmes in cutting edge areas of scientific and technological research.

The School of Natural Sciences has broad horizons, and we provide a friendly and supportive environment for international students. We welcome undergraduates into our degree programmes from across the world as full time students, and on exchange programmes such as Erasmus and Junior Year Abroad as well as via links with universities in North America and Asia. We also offer a wide variety of taught MSc programmes that attract students from across the globe, while our very active research community has opportunities for talented and ambitious postgraduate research students of all nationalities.
