The School of Nursing and Midwifery is research-intensive with a reputation for high quality, internationally relevant research. Our research aims to improve nursing and midwifery practice, the health of those receiving nursing and midwifery care and inform health care policy.
We have a strong commitment to collaborative research. Many of our staff have established research collaborations with networks and universities internationally. we also collaborate extensively with national agencies and groups, including the statutory Health Services, Department of Health, acute hospital services, voluntary agencies and other state bodies. Staff also have strong partnerships with academics from other disciplines across University of Galway.
