Case Western Reserve University

Two Case Western Reserve University students have the opportunity to attend the School of Nursing and Midwifery for 12-14 weeks in Semester 1 of their final year of the Bachelor of Nursing Science (BSN) programme. 

During this study abroad experience, students will complete a Global Health Community placement with the opportunity to attend lectures and simulations with the current fourth year undergraduate students at the School of Nursing and Midwfiery.

Fairfield University 

Fairfield University nursing students who meet the university study abroad criteria, can participate in the Nursing Semester Study Abroad Program. A maximum of 12 students will be permitted to study abroad for the semester. 

Full-time undergraduate students enrol in the NUI Galway programme in the spring of their junior year. Students will attend lectures during the NUI Galway semester from January - May. 

While abroad, students will be required to completed selected ATI subject areas tests. Upon return, students complete a medication and skills review, enrol in a six-week medical-surgical summer course on campus from mid-May to Mid-July. 

Fairfield University students are responsible for the cost of the course and accommodation.

Villanova University

Students studying at the Villanova University College of Nursing have the opportunity to study at NUI Galway as part of a two-week study abroad programme. 

The students will spend a week at the School of Nursing and Midwifery and learn from lecturers, students and clinical nurses about the nursing profession, current issues, patient care and resources. Students will learn about Ireland's health care needs and health care services and nursing education system. The experiene will also enhance students' understanding of the various challenges that are unique to Ireland and shared by Ireland and the United States of America (USA). 

The programme will also include time for exploration of the Irish countryside, culture and history.
