Case Western Reserve University 

A global exchange agreement enables University of Galway students to study at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio USA.

The exchange opportunity is offered by the School of Nursing and Midwifery to two students based on academic performance in the first year of the Bachelor of Nursing Science (General) programme. 

Students travel in mid-May for four weeks. During this period, students attend lectures on the Global Health module at Case Western Reserve University, with practice placements in the Cleveland Clinic and a community setting. 

Some financial support is provided to assist with costs.

Fairfield University

Each year a study abroad experience is offered to the two top-performing students in the first year of the Bachelor of Nursing Science (General) programme. 

The two students study for six weeks over the summer period (June - August) between Year 2 and Year 3 at The Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies at Fairfield University, Connecticut USA. Students attend lectures and undertake clinical placement in the partner clinical sites. 

Campus accommodation is available and some financial support is provided by the Global Galway to assist students with costs.
