ACAP General Practitioners Route
We are delighted to announce that the above program is now open to general practitioners with an opening date of Wednesday 10 September 2025 at 12 (noon) and a closing date of 8 October 2025 at 5pm.
Please see the Application form here.
This programme was first launched in 2017 and, as discussed at the 2024 Teachers in General Practice meeting, has now been extended to General Practice. Its goal is to recognize and encourage academic engagement and contribution by General Practitioners with the School of Medicine. We hope the ACAP will strengthen education, scholarship, and innovation. An appointment under the programme represents both the conferring of academic recognition upon successful applicants by the University and also the undertaking of a commitment to teaching and/or research by the applicant.
Please see ACAP General Practice Policy for guidance on your application and all other information. The criteria for appointment as an Honorary Senior Lecturer, and subsequent promotion, after five years, to Honorary Personal Professor and Honorary Professor status are outlined in this document (which will be downloaded automatically once you click on it).
Applications for Honorary Senior Lecturer General Practice will be accepted through the yearly ACAP Call ONLY.
