Biography

Rachael Maloney holds an honours degree in Sport and Exercise Scientist from ATU Galway, and an MA in Health Promotion from the University of Galway. She has been involved in a variety of health promotion roles, both professional and voluntary, within schools and communities. Her undergraduate thesis examined the accessibility and effectiveness of an aerobic exercise intervention for nurses, while her MA dissertation explored stigma around male eating disorders, for which she received an award from the Association of Health Promotion Ireland. Rachael is currently pursuing her interest in academia by working as a Research Assistant at the Health Promotion Research Centre. She works on projects within the remit of child and adolescent health, including a Slí@School Evaluation, Research Landscape and Gap Analysis on behalf of DCEDIY, ClickBITE, and the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study.
