Undergraduates

The disciplines of Occupational Therapy, Podiatric Medicine, and Speech and Language Therapy each offer dedicated fulltime undergraduate degree programmes. The discipline of Health Promotion offers a part-time undergraduate degree in Social Care.

The undergraduate programmes are delivered by experienced, research active staff, using innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment. All the undergraduate programmes lead to a professional qualification and are approved by the national Health and Social Care Professions regulator CORU.

Postgraduates

We offer a range of fulltime postgraduate taught programmes, including MScs in Health Promotion, Applied Multilingualism, Childhood Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and a Diploma in Health Promotion. The 2 year full-time Pre-Registration (MSc Podiatric Medicine) was introduced in 2024.  

Postgraduate research programmes include Ph.Ds. and MPhils across all disciplines. Staff are highly experienced and research active. The School is home to the Health Promotion Research Centre (HPRC) which produces high quality research of national and international significance, that supports the development of best practice and policy in the promotion of health. The Centre is a World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Health Promotion Research.

International Research

The Health Promotion Research Centre  produces high quality research of national and international significance that supports the development of best practice and policy in the promotion of health. The Centre is a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Health Promotion Research, has an active multidisciplinary research programme, and collaborates with regional, national and international agencies on the development and evaluation of health promotion interventions and strategies. 

The Faculty and staff of the Health Promotion Research Centre have an extensive network of professional links with practitioners and policy makers in Ireland and internationally. We work with funders and NGOs from across Europe and further afield and have developed strong links with academic Health Promotion staff in other countries.
