Courtney Curran

Courtney Martin 

Courtney Curran is a School of Law doctoral scholar at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, and an Australia qualified solicitor with experience in investigative and prosecutorial agencies.

Courtney's current research areas include transitional justice theory, archival research, legal proceedings advanced on expansive extraterritorial jurisdictional grounds—including by way of universal jurisdiction—as these fields and practises operate within the broader human rights and international criminal law frameworks. Fieldwork for Courtney’s doctoral studies has been carried out in Europe and Australia, and doctrinal research conducted in relation to archives connected to legal cases deriving from the Latin American context.

Courtney has published her research in reputable peer-reviewed journals and presented to esteemed international audiences. Courtney continues her legal practising work in domestic and international legal arenas, most recently at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers to compliment her academic endeavours, with her PhD due for completion in 2024.
