Why does Windows 7 prompt to activate the license (Error 0x8007232b)?


Important: The Windows 7 licence code obtained from ISS (under the terms of the Microsoft campus licence) will only work when used in conjunction with the Windows 7 installation CD borrowed from ISS. Please note Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft and you should reimage your device to Windows 10 or get a new device that will have Windows 10 on it.

If you receive the Error 0x8007232b (several days after successfully installing the software), please view http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929826/ for details of how to resolve this issue.

If you receive a new Windows 10 device, log a ticket and a Technician will ensure the device can be used on the network. As part of this process, your device should automatically register with our KMS License server.  This will license Windows.

Should this process fail or there is an issue, please log a ticket and the Service Desk can assist in getting you a license.
