How to find the IP address of a Macintosh computer

1. From the Apple Menu, select System Preferences
   
   
   
   
2. Click on Network in the System Preferences window
   
   
   
   
3. Mac OSX 10.1 - 10.4 Under Show: select Built-In Ethernet  
   For Mac OSX 10.5 skip step 3, 4 and go to step 5
   
   
   
   
4. To find the IP address, click on the TCP/IP tab, your IP address will be displayed under the IP Address heading
5. Mac OSX 10.5 - Select the Ethernet connection, your IP address is displayed under the IP Address heading
