The Institute's mission is to enhance both fundamental and applied understanding of diseases, while also facilitating the creation of innovative solutions for health. By consolidating the university’s existing world-class expertise, the Institute covers a wide range of biomedical science and engineering research, including fundamental science, discovery, biomedical engineering, medical technologies, regenerative medicine, diagnostics, and advanced therapeutics. Moreover, it will foster new strategic research areas for the University, such as active implants, connected health, and smart connected devices.
