EDI Course
All members of interview and promotion boards are required to complete equality, diversity and inclusion training. The EDI training is available on the University’s online module.
The purpose of the EDI in HE eLearning programme is:
- to raise awareness of how equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights issues permeate organisational culture, and
- to understand what third level education staff responsibilities are under Irish equality and human rights legislation.
Programme Content
The programme consists of 4 separate modules, details below, each of 30-45 minutes duration, which can be completed either as an entire programme, or as a series of modules allowing participants to build up their knowledge over time.
- Module 1 is an introductory module, giving you a comprehensive overview of the importance and benefits of EDI and Human Rights and the legal landscape in which Higher Education Institutions operate.
- Module 2 covers Recruitment and Selection and is essential for any staff member involved in the selection process.
- Module 3 looks at meeting the needs of diverse students and best practice tips on fostering equality in teaching and learning settings
- Module 4 looks at putting policy into practice.

Please follow the steps in the following user guide:
- You are presented with a login screen as below, where you can enter your details.
- If you forgot your password, please click the forgot password? option and follow the instructions below:
- Enter your @universityofgalway.ie and click Resend.
- You will receive an email with a link. Click the link to reset your password:
- Enter your new password and click Change my password:
You will have automatically been enrolled on the equality, diversity and inclusion course.

Click on Start to begin the course:
Click on one of the four sectins to begin that section of the course. Click the arrow icon to progress through the course:
Click play to play each video. Once each video has completed click on the right arrow to advance to the next section:
Once you have completed each section you will reach the conclusion page. You must exit this page to ensure your course status is updated. To exit the page click on the Save and Exit at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
When you exit, your progress will be updated.
Repeat these steps for each course. Once you have completed a course it moves from the Enrolled tab to the Completed tab.
Once each course is completed you can print a certificate. Click Download:
To logout, click the dropdown option and click Logout :
