Course Registration Via CorePortal
How to view and register for courses on CorePortal
1. Login to Core Portal and click the Hat symbol on the left ribbon where the blue arrow is pointing
2. Click Search to view all upcoming workshops
3. To register for a particular workshop click the 3 dots below in the blue box and select ‘Request to attend course’ from the drop-down box
4. Select your workshop, reason, and feel free to type up a comment before clicking submit.
You will receive a confirmation email in due course on the status of your registration, from learninganddevelopment@universityofgalway.ie
All Learning & Development (L&D) workshops and programmes are free of charge to employees, however, each place we provide represents a cost to the University.
Before you book your place:
• Approval for Attendance: Please note that your line manager/head of unit needs to be aware of any planned absence from your area, please discuss your requirement to attend a workshop or programme with them in advance of booking a place
• Ensure the course is relevant to your needs by reviewing the course outline on the Learning and Development page/Core Portal
• Consider workload before booking a place on a seminar or course
If you are unable to attend a course, you should let L&D know at least 3 full working days beforehand by cancelling your place online through Core Portal so that we can attempt to fill your place
If you are unable to cancel via Core Portal, you should contact us directly at learninganddevelopment@universityofgalway.ie
