VHI Healthcare
The University of Galway group scheme with VHI commences in April and ends the following March each year. Deductions can be made through the payroll office to pay for your VHI only. You must notify VHI if you wish to arrange salary deductions. Email payroll@universityofgalway.ie for the group scheme number before contacting VHI.
Any amendments or request to stop deductions must be informed by the staff member to VHI directly.

UPDATE FROM VHI RE PREMIUMS DURING COVID-19
Vhi Premium Waiver Announcement
Vhi have provided FAQs which outlines how the premium waiver will be applied. Also included is a communication, and FAQs, designed for your employees – informing them of the change and also answering some of their key questions about how and when they will see this change. I have also included details on the many services and benefits that we have recently adjusted and extended to support them during this time.
We are continuing to assess and adjust other services and benefits to ensure that they are relevant and meaningful to our customers during COVID-19. We will continue to communicate these to you and you can also find more information on this at www.vhi.ie/covid-19.

Life Insurance
Group Life Plan have been selected as the underwriter and providers of the NUI Galway Voluntary Life Cover plan.
The Voluntary life cover plan offers members the opportunity to avail of additional life cover. The Life Cover benefit is two and a half times your pensionable salary in the event of death in service of a member. The Premiums will be deducted through your salary on a monthly basis and they will also attract tax relief at your marginal tax rate.
