Meera Tandan - PhD in Antimicrobial Resistance
"I am a student of research, doing PhD in antimicrobial resistance from Discipline of General Practice; School of Medicine. NUIG is one of the reputed universities providing quality education and research platforms to potential students from all countries irrespective of any race and religion. Its wonderful peaceful working environment, green fields around; huge library with additional special events like seminars and academic training programmes; brilliant and supportive supervisors; and fantastic place for leisure activities (Kingfisher) are my major attractions in the university. The university has enormous scholarship programme like Hardiman scholarship, College scholarships and Irish Research Council scholarship where a non-European student can apply and secure.
The best part of Ireland particularly the Galway is: lovely Irish music, traditional dance, cultural celebrations rallies like St. Patrick day, Halloween and very friendly as well as welcoming Irish people."
