Students with Disabilities

Preparation is key to ensuring your Erasmus / Study Abroad will be accessible and enriching. Doing your research in advance will help you to know what to expect and enable you to best prepare for a successful and enjoyable experience. The Disability Support Service has advice for any students needing additional support to study abroad. Students registered with the Disability Support Service can also organise a planning meeting to discuss how best to prepare for student abroad. More information is available on their website.

Erasmus Funding
Students with disabilities or additional needs may be entitled to apply for extra funds from the Erasmus programme. This additional funding can only be used for Erasmus destinations and cannot be used to support study abroad outside of the Erasmus programme. Contact outgoingerasmus@universityofgalway.ie for guidance on additional funding for students with a disability going on the Erasmus Programme.
