Gender-based violence and migration in Ireland (GBV-MIG Ireland)

GBV-MIG Ireland is part of a seven-country study funded by EU Gender Net Plus (2019-2022). The focus of the research is on women and other migrants for whom vulnerability to  Gender-based Violence (GBV) is a significant concern. In addition to Ireland, study countries include Austria, Canada, France, Israel Norway, and Turkey. The project takes ‘migrant women’ to mean those who are seeking or have been granted international protection (or asylum), as well as those who have otherwise come to Ireland from non-EEA (European Economic Area) as well as EEA countries. GBV-MIG Ireland is led by Prof Niamh Reilly at NUI Galway. The overall coordinator of the international project is Prof Jane Freedman, Université Paris 8.
