Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Support Fund
What is the Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Support Fund?
Funding has been made available by the Higher Education Authority's (HEA) Programme for Access to Higher Education (PATH 1) Programme to support HEAR and Access programme students who are training in Initial Teacher Education Courses. The eligible courses for this fund are:
1) Professional Master of Education (PME)
2) Máistir Gairmiúil san Oideachas (MGO)
3) BA in Education - Computer Science
4) BA in Education - Maths.
Who is eligible to apply?
Any HEAR or Access Programme entrant who is currently registered on one of the eligible courses above. Postgraduate (PME and MGO) students who did their Undergraduate programme in another HEI and who entered university through a HEAR or Access entry route are welcome to apply but will need to provide evidence of eligibility from their undergraduate Institution.
When will the fund close for the academic year 2025/26?
Closing Date 31st December, 2025 at 5pm.
Please note that we expect to make payments for this fund in January, 2025 so application before the above deadline is essential.
