Mainstream Supports
Academic Writing Centre
What: The Academic Writing Centre offers free, one-on-one tutorials on essay writing, video workshops and an online writing & peer review editing course.
A priority booking system for a one to one consultation is in place for students who are registered with the Disability Support Service. If you experience any challenges with academic writing, you are strongly encouraged to link in with the AWC.
Where: The AWC is located on floor 2, in the James Hardiman Library
SUMS Centre
What: The SUMS Centre is a drop-in support centre for Mathematics where any University of Galway student can work on their maths questions The Centre is run by expert tutors who can offer individual support, if necessary.
Students have the option of disclosing that they are registered with the Disability Support Service when attending a session with SUMS. If you disclose a disability, you will have the option to meet with the Director to discuss how SUMS can best support you. Please see the timetable and link to the booking form.
