Overview
Attracting new customers, while retaining profitability and adapting to market conditions can be a challenge for businesses as they develop. This module will outline and prioritise key considerations and frameworks for businesses in relation to planning and developing their businesses further. Owners/managers can work on enhancing their critical thinking skills and thinking objectively about their business offering.

In this module you will learn about:
- Analysing the various stakeholders of an Enterprise;
- Funding a new venture;
- Sources of Finance;
- Sustainable Sources of Finance;
- Performance Measurement;
- Non-Financial Performance Measurement;
- Benchmarking, Planning and Budgets, Cost Control and Cost Reduction;
- Corporate Failure and Risk Management.
Learning Outcomes
- Breakdown businesses to their total product offering, differentiating the layers and the associated areas for attention in the business.
- Categorize the stakeholders in the business, primarily the customers/consumers, and understanding their needs. Create viable business solutions for the needs and wants of these customers/consumers.
- Utilise research to aid business decisions, increasing information literacy and critical thinking for decision making.
- Generate a business model for the enterprise which appraises and interprets the businesses these owners/managers are operating in.
- Revising ‘ideas’ for the business towards genuine opportunities.
