Bringing Chinese Language and Culture to University of Galway

The educational programme for the delivery of Chinese Language, Chinese Culture and Chinese Medicine classes at the University of Galway has already begun despite the relatively short time the Confucius Institute of Chinese and Regenerative Medicine has been at the University of Galway.

Staff from NJUCM arrived in Galway in November 2019 and began delivering lectures to first-year and the fourth-year University of Galway medical students in January 2020. Lectures include Modern Mandarin Chinese, Tai Chi for Medicine, Tai Chi & History of Chinese Culture and Herbal Medicine of China.

The CI staff is also collaborating with the School of Languages and School of Business at the University of Galway. There is significant interest in developing and expanding current Chinese language modules at the University of Galway.

The Confucius Institute Galway has been expanding since its arrival in 2020 despite being held back for two years with Covid-19 the plan is to continue expanding in 2023

‌The University of Galway and the Confucius Institute of Chinese and Regenerative Medicine are bringing Chinese Culture to the University of Galway through a four-part Education Programme that will extend to Primary & Secondary Schools, the University of Galway students and Staff as well as the public and businesses of the West of Ireland. There will also be a new Co-educational programme offering Master's courses to the students of our partner institution, NJUCM.
