‌Health Psychology is the study of psychological and behavioural processes in health, illness and health care. ‌

The Health and Wellbeing theme at NUIG delivers a Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) accredited MSc in Health Psychology and a Structured PhD in Health Psychology.‌ Members of this theme contribute to research in a number of key themes.‌

We have strong links to the PSI Division of Health Psychology, with three recent Chairs of the Division coming from our School and the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS) where we currently have a member of the EHPS Executive Committee and the National Delegate for Ireland based in the School. Members of this theme also serve on the editorial boards of several leading scientific journals in this area of research including Psychology & Health and the British Journal of Health Psychology.
