Modern Irish Culture Studies (Literature and Music) as part of GY101 BA (Joint Honours)
Modern Irish Culture Studies at NUI Galway is designed for any student with a strong interest in modern and contemporary Irish culture, particularly those whose preferred subjects at Leaving Certificate level include Irish, History, English or Music. Offered by the Centre for Irish Studies, a designated centre for excellence at NUI Galway, Modern Irish Culture Studies (Literature and Music) explore Irish identities and key aspects of the Irish experience through the study of literature and music in their historical and contemporary settings.
Modern Irish Culture Studies (Literature and Music) is available as a subject choice in the three year BA (Joint Honours) and available from 2016. Students choose Modern Irish Culture Studies (Literature and Music) as one of three subjects in first year and can continue with Modern Irish Culture Studies (Literature and Music) as one of two selected degree subjects for their Second and Final Year studies. Students graduate with a BA (Joint Honours) in Modern Irish Culture Studies (Music and Literature) and one other subject.
