School of Geography, Archaeology and Irish Studies
Undergraduates
The School of Geography, Archaeology and Irish Studies has an enrolment of over 1300 undergraduate students. Our students acquire a wide range of analytical, technical and communication skills that are valuable and highly sought after by many sectors of employment. Experiential and field-based learning are central to our undergraduate programme, as exemplified in our commitment to undergraduate dissertation projects and module-specific field and laboratory training.
Since March this year, we’ve all had to pivot to teaching and learning remotely, but now more than ever there is the need to stay socially connected and help each other out, in whatever way that we can.
The Centre for Irish Studies has put together some ‘Top Tips for Learning Remotely’ and guidance on ‘Online Etiquette’ from conversations with colleagues and the BA, MA and PhD scholars throughout the year.
International Students
The School's programmes have gained an international reputation, and students have joined our School from China, Ethiopia, Germany, Italy, Kosovo, Malawi, Nigeria, Norway, Russia, Sri Lanka, UAE, UK, USA and Vietnam.
