Biography and PhD Project

Anıl Sena Bayındır is a Doctoral Candidate at the School of Law at the University of Galway, specialising in AI-generated inventions and their possible patent protection under the research project titled “Economic Analysis of the Patent Protection of AI-generated Inventions.” In particular, her research focuses on how AI transforms the nature of the invention and how the law should react to or act along with this transformation. She works under the supervision of Dr. John Danaher and Dr. Rónán Kennedy. She holds an LLM in Private Law from İ.D. Bilkent University, Turkey. She wrote her LLM dissertation thesis on the “Patentability of AI-generated Inventions” under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülüm Bayraktaroğlu Özçelik. During her LLM studies, she acted as a research assistant in a research project called “Artificial Intelligence and Law,” directed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış Özçelik and funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.
