Director of Real Estate, Denis O Connor

Welcome to the Buildings and Estates Website.

Our dedicated team delivers Real Estate Services (property, facility, asset, energy management, master planning and development) across the University through direct and contract provision.

The University’s property requirements consists of capital works, involving new build construction and a broad range of works to our to existing building stock and campus, including minor decorative, refurbishments, extensions, alterations, civil engineering, landscaping and infrastructural projects.  

Overall, the team is experienced, specific area trained, qualified, and dedicated to delivering a service to the University students, staff and visitors.

The estate consist of 225,415m² of real estate spread across 131 buildings and satellite locations, with a reinstatement value of €1.24bn. The University’s structures range from protected buildings built in the early 1800s and 1970’s, through to modern facilities from recent times, which require a mix of planned preventative maintenance, life cycle replacement and structural asset management techniques to be applied for the day-to-day management of this varied portfolio.

Our property use consists of a mix of academic, administration, residential, research, commercial and sports facilities.
