Saeede Mokhtarzade - DOCTORAL CANDIDATE

Biography:

Saeede Mokhtarzade is a Structured PhD candidate at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, University of Galway. She holds an M.A. in Human Rights from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, where her final thesis examined The Right to Work of Refugees in Iran from a Human Rights and Non-Discrimination Perspective. She also holds an M.A. in International Law from the Islamic Azad University in Tehran, where her thesis on The European Legal System for Protecting Refugees with a Focus on Women and Children was awarded highest distinction. Her research and professional experience focus on human rights, women’s rights, refugee and migration studies, and Islamic law and jurisprudence. She has contributed to academic and policy projects on migration governance and the protection of women and children, with a particular focus on Afghan refugees, and has published in academic journals, presented at conferences, and written widely in national newspapers. Within the BILQIS project, she contributes her interdisciplinary expertise at the intersection of Islamic law, gender, and human rights.
