Dedicated Support Worker

Hi, I'm Betty, the Education Support Worker for Care Experienced Students at University of Galway. I work with students with care experience throughout their educational journey.

I can meet students before they apply to University of Galway and help with applying through HEAR, DARE, QQI/FET, and ACCESS entry routes. I can also give information about key dates around financial supports and accommodation.

I meet students throughout their time at university and I provide advocacy, information on supports, and link students with campus supports. if you're finding things challenging at university - whether it's falling behind on coursework, dealing with personal challenges, struggling financially, or just feeling overwhelmed - please know you're not alone. I'm here to help. We can meet for quick check-ins, make realistic study plans together, explore financial supports, or link you in with specialist support at the university. Whether it's reaching out to lecturers, managing your timetable, or finding ways to feel connected on campus, I would love to speak with you.
