Rachel McCole |   Msc Research student

I chose to study for a Masters by Research in Biochemistry because of the excellent facilities and the breadth of opportunities at NUI Galway. I am undertaking my own independent research project for one year full time in the lab. This is an ideal step towards my next goal of a funded PhD scholarship. My MSc by Research has allowed me to develop a wider range of skills and practical experience that would not have been possible with other types of Masters degrees. I work in the new Biomedical Science Building which is a very interactive environment and a great motivation for the quality of my research. Everyone in Biochemistry is very approachable and always open to sharing ideas or teaching me new techniques.
