Biography

Dr Eimear Morrissey is a Lecturer in Evidence Based Healthcare at the University of Galway. Eimear completed her PhD in Psychology & Health at the School of Psychology in NUI Galway in 2018. Prior to this she completed an MSc in Health Psychology at NUI Galway and a BA in Applied Psychology at UCC. As a postdoctoral researcher, she managed two pilot Randomised Controlled Trials; the HRB funded MIAMI and the D1 Now studies, during which time she was awarded the European Health Psychology Society Stan Maes Early Career Award and NUI Galway President's Award for Societal Impact. Eimear's research interests include self-management of long-term conditions, health behaviour change, complex intervention development, evaluation and implementation and evidence synthesis. She also has a special interest in public and patient involvement (PPI) in research and has worked closely with PPI contributors at all stages of the research cycle.
