Minster Simon Harris announced a package of €5.4m in extra supports for college students with disabilities and Shannon College is delighted to receive approval today for strategic initiatives to ensure a more inclusive learning environment.  These initiatives include the creation of an autism-friendly low distraction study area and a project to ensure all teaching materials and assessment practices are in line with best practice to ensure inclusive learning principles are met.  We are a diverse group of staff and students at Shannon College and we embrace and value the diversity of our community. The College continually aims to promote, maintain and support equality, diversity and inclusivity for all our students and staff and this project will contribute to creating a more inclusive and respectful learning environment in which everyone feels valued and can learn or work to their full potential.
