Louise Helen Jones is a postgraduate student at the Molecular Parasitology Lab (MPL). She completed her BSc in Biomedicine at Lancaster University, during which she completed a year in industry working in the Regulatory Affairs department at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. She then completed her MSc in Biopharmaceutical Development at the University of Leeds. Her MSc project was "Characterising protein aggregation under hydrodynamic flow", which investigated the effect of pumps used in industrial manufacturing processes on biological drugs.

Louise joined the MPL as a PhD student under John Dalton in 2026. She is working to develop Schistosome-derived peptides, specifically Sm16-like helminth defence molecules (HDMs), as biotherapeutic agents for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and psoriasis.
