David Greaney holds a BSc in general science (anatomy) at the University of Galway and an MSc in research medicine at University College Dublin. He previously worked as a research assistant in the Burke lab group on the DERIVE project detecting the presence of shiga toxin producing Escherichia coli in surface and ground water to validate a catchment contamination risk map.

David joined the MPL in April 2026 as a research assistant holding dual roles spanning research in microscopy and imaging, alongside administrative responsibilities in procurement and web design.
