2020 “Sweetness and Light” – A Journey Towards Diagnostic Tools Based OnLuminescent Glycoclusters"
Location: Zoom
Dr Joseph Byrne is an Honorary Research Lecturer in the School of Chemistry at NUI Galway and a CÚRAM collaborator. He leads an SFI SIRG project, developing luminescent carbohydrate-based sensors for applications in diagnostic devices for bacterial infection. He was a Marie Curie Fellow at University of Bern, exploring catalytic impacts of incorporating carbohydrates into NHC complexes, and completed his PhD in Trinity College Dublin, researching luminescent lanthanide complexes and supramolecular chemistry.
