CEGS Co-Director
Jonathan Levie is a Co-Founder and Co-Director of CEGS and Professor of Entrepreneurship & Regional Development in the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics at the University of Galway. He was formerly a Professor in the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, where he served as its first Director. He has held research and teaching posts at London Business School (UK), Babson College (US), INSEAD (France), and University College, Cork (Ireland). He has been an active participant in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor project since its inception, serving variously as associate coordinator, board member, and national team co-director. His research on entrepreneurship and early corporate growth has been published in Journal of Management Studies, Research Policy, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Small Business Economics, Family Business Review, Journal of Business Research, and Academy of Management Discoveries, among others. He has developed several outreach programmes for entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial resource providers, including Supercoaching the Entrepreneur (with Enable Ventures Inc.), the Growth Advantage Programme (University of Strathclyde; endorsed by the Scaleup Institute) and Scaling Masterclasses (University of Galway).
