Irish Medtech Skillnet in collaboration with BioInnovate have launched a new 3-day programme, ‘BioInnovate 101: Essentials of Health Technology Innovation’.
Programme Description
The objective of this programme is to provide an introduction to the Biolnnovate principles, based on Stanford Biodesign, for identifying, innovating and assessing health technology opportunities. The programme will emphasise the tools, language and philosophy of the process of innovating health care solutions while minimising the risk of project or commercial failure.
The programme will combine content delivery, case studies and applied problem-based learning methods to give perspectives and visibility on the process of innovating a novel health technology.
Who should attend?
This Programme is targeted at healthcare professionals, individuals, and companies who are considering an investment in innovation and want their team to embrace the Biolnnovate process for innovating health technologies.
This Programme is suitable for a broad range of disciplines including, R&D Engineers, Software Engineers and Data Scientists; Quality and Regulatory affairs professionals; Marketing and Post-market surveillance professionals; Healthcare Professionals and beyond.
Qualification

Testimonials
“Really good course and it provides an excellent introduction to the process, allowing us to speak to this in an informed manner with our R&D leadership”. - Senior Principal Engineer, R&D, Alcon
“We are looking at the whole area of Innovation Management and see BioDesign being a key element of that. In addition we have strategic objective to bring early stage innovation in house and this training will provide a good grounding on the requirements of setting that up.” - Senior Principal Engineer, R&D, Alcon
“I work in the Stryker Innovation Centre and the BioInnovate course is closely aligned to what we do. I usually come into a project at the concept selection phase and do not have the opportunity to see the clinical setting and needs finding portion of the project. Gaining the understanding of the Needs finding and how the needs statement is developed will largely benefit the approach I take in my work. It will also aid in designing questions for my formative lab evaluations in how we speak to the appropriate user groups to identify further needs and how these can be addressed in the design and development of product.” - Senior Advanced Qualiter Engineer, Stryker Cork
“As a whole, I quite enjoyed the experience and having the opportunity to work with people from varied backgrounds in developing a concept product. From my own experience, I believe keeping the groups small at 3-4 max per team will be beneficial going forward as it allows all members to have their say and apply the knowledge they have learned. In my own group, we all took something different from each aspect of the course and it is great to have that collaborative effort and experience when looking to apply the knowledge gained.” - Senior Advanced Qualiter Engineer, Stryker Cork
“Overall, it was a fantastic 3 days and I've gained a significant insight into the world of BioInnovation.” - Senior Advanced Qualiter Engineer, Stryker Cork
“I will be recommending this workshop to customers and companies in the future and would like to collaborate more with the Bioinnovate team going forward.” Advanced Catheter Expert
