Mission
A research-intensive university where we nurture talent and generate knowledge for the world.
Vision
To empower our people to create global impact through our distinctive research, exceptional education and transformative student experiences.
Our Values
As a university community we have defined a set of core values that support our mission and guide us in how we act as an organisation, interact as a community, and engage with the world around us. In developing this strategic plan, our community reaffirmed the importance of our four long-term values – Respect, Openness, Sustainability and Excellence, and identified a fifth value – Belonging – which emerged most strongly from our students as an important driver of wellbeing, personal growth and success.
- Excellence: The University is dedicated to supporting excellence in teaching, research, and innovation, empowering our people with the skills and knowledge to reach their potential and drive positive societal, cultural and economic change.
- Respect: The University is committed to ensuring a culture of respect, equality, trust and empathy, and supporting the wellbeing and equitable treatment of students and staff.
- Openness: The University is committed to fostering openness, diversity, and inclusion, while engaging with local and global communities to drive positive change and make education and research accessible.
- Sustainability: The University aims to lead the transition to a sustainable future by embedding sustainability into its teaching, research, operations, and partnerships, fostering the next generation of leaders and innovators to tackle global challenges.
- Belonging: The University strives to create an environment where students, staff and alumni feel welcomed, supported, connected and valued as an integral part of a community of learning that fosters academic engagement, professional development and personal growth, health and wellbeing.

Ollscoil diantaighde, áit a gcuirtear síol talainne in ithir thorthúil agus a ngintear eolas don domhan ar fad.
Fís
A chur ar chumas ár bpobail féin tionchar a bheith aige ar an domhan trí chéile trí thaighde sainiúil, oideachas eisceachtúil agus eispéiris spreagúla do mhic léinn.
Ár Luachanna
Mar phobal ollscoile tá bunluachanna leagtha síos againn a thacaíonn lenár misean agus a thaispeánann dúinn an chaoi ar cheart dúinn feidhmiú mar eagraíocht, mar phobal, agus an déileáil a bhíonn againn leis an domhan thart orainn. Agus an plean straitéiseach seo á fhorbairt, ba léir ón méid a chuir an pobal in iúl an tábhacht a bhaineann lenár gceithre luach fhadtéarmacha – Meas, Oscailteacht, Inbhuanaitheacht agus Barr Feabhais, agus aithníodh an cúigiú luach – Muintearas – a luaigh ár gcuid mac léinn go sonrach mar luach tábhachtach a spreagfadh folláine, fás pearsanta agus rathúlacht.
- Barr Feabhais: Tá an Ollscoil tiomanta do thacú le barr feabhais sa teagasc, sa taighde, agus sa nuálaíocht, ag cur ar chumas ár bpobail a chuid scileanna agus eolais a úsáid chun barr a chumais a bhaint amach agus chun an tsochaí, an cultúr agus an eacnamaíocht a athrú chun feabhais.
- Meas: Tá Ollscoil na Gaillimhe tiomanta do chultúr measa, comhionannais, muiníne agus comhbhá a chinntiú, agus do thacú le folláine agus le cothrom na Féinne do mhic léinn agus don fhoireann.
- Oscailteacht: Tá an Ollscoil tiomanta d’oscailteacht, d’éagsúlacht agus do chuimsiú a chothú, agus ag an am céanna dul i dteagmháil le pobail áitiúla agus dhomhanda chun athrú dearfach a spreagadh agus chun a chinntiú go bhfuil teacht ar oideachas agus taighde.
- Inbhuanaitheacht: Tá sé mar aidhm ag an Ollscoil an t-aistriú chuig todhchaí inbhuanaithe a threorú trí inbhuanaitheacht a leabú ina cuid teagaisc, taighde, oibríochtaí agus comhpháirtíochtaí, ag cothú na chéad ghlúine eile de cheannairí agus de nuálaithe chun dul i ngleic le dúshláin dhomhanda.
- Muintearas: Déanann an Ollscoil a dícheall timpeallacht a chruthú ina mothaíonn mic léinn, an fhoireann agus alumni go bhfuil fáilte rompu, go bhfuil tacaíocht acu, go bhfuil ceangal acu linn agus go bhfuil meas orthu agus gur cuid lárnach iad de phobal foghlama a chothaíonn rannpháirtíocht acadúil, forbairt ghairmiúil agus fás pearsanta, sláinte agus folláine.
