Achieving our strategic priorities will require collective effort and focus in the years ahead. We have identified five key enablers to support the implementation of our strategy – cross-cutting themes through which we will engage our university community to deliver positive change.

Supportive Environment: 

We will enable and support all students and staff to reach their full potential in an engaging, accessible and inclusive learning environment by: 

  • mainstreaming equality, diversity and inclusion by design, and engendering commitment and collective responsibility through the establishment of KPIs at unit level within the University.
  • continuing to improve access and participation for under-represented priority groups, including students with disabilities, through our pioneering work on widening participation in higher education.
  • collaborating across the University to improve student success, using student data and feedback and tailoring services to support them to progress, enhance their physical, social and mental health and wellbeing – including through participation in sports – and ensure they are ready for the future.
  • enhancing employee wellbeing and engagement through the development of our staff, a focus on sustainable and equitable employment practices, and the provision of social, wellbeing, and learning opportunities, as informed by externally accredited frameworks.

Effective Communications: 

We will communicate our distinctive impact, build reputation with key audiences, and engage our university community by:

  • designing targeted communications and engagement strategies to build the University’s reputation globally, and putting in place the systems, processes and technology to support their impact.
  • telling our university’s story through engaging digital content, including a redesigned website.

Sustainability Leadership

Building upon our global reputation for sustainability impact, we will intensify the transition to a more sustainable future by:

  • further embedding sustainability in our teaching, research and campus operations through our Learn-Live-Lead model.
  • deepening our engagement with sustainability partners, locally, nationally and internationally, to inspire and share in positive change.
  • moving ambitiously towards carbon neutrality and enhancing biodiversity across our estate.
  • aiming for a STARS Platinum Award in recognition of oursustainability impact across these domains.

Global Engagement

We will secure our position in the world through the development of a strategic internationalisation plan that strengthens our global profile and underpins our research and education ambitions by:

  • growing and diversifying our international student and staff recruitment within an enabling environment that enriches our university community, attracts talent to our city and region, and supports our strategic priorities.
  • widening opportunities for international mobility, both physical and virtual, and supporting global employability for our students.
  • building our network of strategic partnerships in key regions around the globe and engaging ever more deeply through the Coimbra Group and our ENLIGHT European University Alliance.

Cumarsáid Éifeachtach:

Cuirfimid ár dtionchar sainiúil in iúl, cuirfimid lenár gcáil i measc ár spriocphobail, agus beimid i dteagmháil lenár bpobal ollscoile mar seo a leanas:

  • straitéisí spriocdhírithe cumarsáide agus rannpháirtíochta a dhearadh chun cáil dhomhanda na hOllscoile a fhorbairt, agus na córais, na próisis agus an teicneolaíocht a chur i bhfeidhm chun tacú lena dtionchar.
  • scéal na hOllscoile a insint trí ábhar digiteach tarraingteach, lena n-áirítear láithreán nua gréasáin.

Ceannaireacht Inbhuanaitheachta

Ag tógáil ar ár gcáil dhomhanda as tionchar na hinbhuanaitheachta, cuirfimid dlús leis an aistriú chuig todhchaí níos inbhuanaithe ar an gcaoi seo a leanas:

  • inbhuanaitheacht a leabú tuilleadh sa teagasc, sa taighde agus in oibríochtaí an champais trínár múnla Foghlaim-Mair-Spreag.
  • ár rannpháirtíocht le comhpháirtithe inbhuanaitheachta a láidriú, go háitiúil, go náisiúnta agus go hidirnáisiúnta, chun athrú dearfach a spreagadh agus a roinnt.
  • bogadh go huaillmhianach i dtreo neodracht charbóin agus cur leis an mbithéagsúlacht ar fud an eastáit.
  • díriú ar Ghradam Platanaim STARS mar aitheantas ar ár dtionchar inbhuanaitheachta sna réimsí sin.

Rannpháirtíocht Dhomhanda:

Déanfaimid deimhin d’ár suíomh sa domhan trí phlean idirnáisiúnaithe straitéisigh a fhorbairt a neartaíonn ár bpróifíl dhomhanda agus a thacaíonn lenár n-uaillmhianta taighde agus oideachais trí:

  • earcaíocht mac léinn agus foirne idirnáisiúnta a mhéadú i dtimpeallacht chumasaithe a shaibhríonn ár bpobal ollscoile, a mheallann tallann chuig ár gcathair agus ár réigiún, agus a thacaíonn lenár dtosaíochtaí straitéiseacha.
  • deiseanna do shoghluaisteacht idirnáisiúnta a leathnú, idir fhisiciúil agus fhíorúil, agus tacú le hinfhostaitheacht dhomhanda ár mac léinn.
