Biography

Daniel is currently a researcher with SEMRU in NUI Galway working on the Interreg funded MOSES project. He has previously worked as an engineer in the area of planning, water supply schemes, environmental permits and wind farms. In the area of economics he initially worked as research assistant for the Department of Economics in NUI Galway on projects related to biodiversity, tourism and non-market valuation of water quality. He then undertook a PhD that focused on valuing the achievement of “good environmental status” under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. Since his PhD, he worked as a part-time and guest lecturer in the Economics Department at NUI Galway in addition to work as a postdoctoral researcher on EPA and DAFM funded projects valuing marine and agricultural ecosystem services in Ireland.
