Clinical Space
5 Consultation Rooms
We have 5 multipurpose consultation rooms which are well equipped to meet the needs of research participants. These rooms optimise patient care by providing a private space for confidential consultations with patients, performing medical examinations and conducting informed consent process with research participants. The space provides the privacy for participants to relax, interact and discuss sensitive concerns and can be adapted to a range of clinical studies.
4 Multi-Purpose Treatment Rooms
Treatment room 1 can accommodate 2 patients and can be adapted to a range of clinical studies involving patients and healthy volunteers.
This 2 patient space is fully equipped with vital signs monitoring, height and weight measurements and phlebotomy and facilitate the conduct of study visits for research patients and volunteers.
Treatment room 4 is a warm and spacious day ward facility comprising of a large nurse/researcher station and 4 multi-function state of the art patient assessment areas. This space is well equipped with vital signs monitoring, height and weight measurements, ECG equipment and phlebotomy supplies and can be adapted to a range of clinical studies for patients and healthy volunteers.
Treatment rooms 3 is a bright and comfortable multipurpose space to facilitate patient study visits, procedures and examinations.
All rooms have patient trolleys/chairs, emergency call buttons, piped oxygen and suction and TV’s.
Diagnostics Room
A number of clinical trials conducted at HRB-CRFG involve wearable device design. This space allows us to maintain and manage the secure storage of patient devices. Devices are programmed before being fitted to a patient. When the patient returns the data is downloaded and analysed by the study clinician in the diagnostics room.
Minor Procedure Preparation Room
The preparation room is a private consultant room linked to the minor procedure room and is used for the preparation of patients before having a minor procedure carried out as part of a research study. Patients may have their consent process, cannulation or phlebotomy conducted in the preparation room prior to their study procedure.
Minor Procedure Room
The minor procedure room is brightly lit and well air conditioned to allow research clinicians to conduct minor procedure which are part of a research study e.g. bone marrow, skin biopsy.
Bio-Bank and Sample Processing Room
Bio banking refers to the process by which samples of bodily fluid or tissue are collected for research use to improve our understanding of health and disease
The HRB CRFG has a designated onsite sample processing and biobank room which serves as a biorepository for Investigator initiated clinical research studies. In addition it facilitates the short term storage of samples for industry studies where the initial processing and storage of samples taken from participants involved in research studies takes place onsite. HRB CRFG staff then work closely with other associated facilities for the more complex laboratory analysis. Our Biobank and sample processing supports bio specimen processing (blood, urine, saliva), sample aliquoting and -80°C and -20°C freezer storage for the duration of the clinical studies. The Bio-Bank and sample processing room consists of three -80 freezers, one -20 freezer, 2 refrigerated centrifuges, a sample preparation area. All our processing and storage equipment is well maintained and highly monitored to ensure integrity of data derived from the samples.
Medical Record Library
Onsite Medical record Library- Is a highly secure area which facilitates the onsite storage of patient medical files allowing ease of access for study Investigators and research staff.
Archive Preparation Room
The Investigator is responsible for the retention of trial essential documents once a trial is completed. The HRB CRFG archiving room provides the space for all clinical trial documentation to be prepared for archiving once trials are complete, in line with HRB-CRFG procedures and applicable regulations.
Monitors Room
This private office facilitates our study monitors to conduct study monitoring visit, review patients charts and meet with the research staff. Quality checks & assurance are performed in the private space for the application of study adherence
Kitchenette
Our kitchenette can be used to support the delivery of behavioural trials (such as dietary interventions, occupational therapy interventions) or also may be used for the preparation of light snacks for our study participants during their visit to the facility in particular where patients have to arrive fasting or their onsite visit may take multiple hours. Providing this service can influence patients’ satisfaction with their overall study experience.
Multiple Utility Rooms
The CRF has multiple utility rooms which are designated space for the storage of clinical supplies used for the conduct of clinical research studies e.g. phlebotomy supplies, Intravenous fluids, dressings. It also provides the space for the preparation of procedure kits, intravenous drug infusions and stem cell infusions before being administered to trial participants.
