Ghnóthaigh an tionscadal taighde Republic of Conscience: Cearta an Duine agus Nuafhilíocht na Gaeilge maoiniú ón Chomhairle um Thaighde in Éirinn faoin scéim ghradamúil ‘Consolidator Laureate Award’. Is í an tOllamh Rióna Ní Fhrighil stiúrthóir an tionscadail taighde agus tá sí ag obair i bpáirt leis an Dr Anne Karhio agus Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha.
Tionscadal idirdhisciplíneach é Republic of Conscience: Cearta an Duine agus Nuafhilíocht na Gaeilge a bhaineann go dlúth le léann na litríochta, léann chearta an duine agus léann an aistriúcháin.
Déanfaidh an fhoireann taighde scagadh ar an athláithriú a dhéantar ar chearta an duine i bhfilíocht na hÉireann san fhichiú haois agus anuas go dtí ár linn féin. Cuirfear bundánta as Gaeilge agus as Béarla san áireamh, chomh maith le haistriúcháin go Gaeilge agus go Béarla le filí Éireannacha. Díreofar go speisialta ar sháruithe tromchúiseacha idirnáisiúnta agus an plé nó an léargas a fhaightear ar na hábhair sin i bhfilíocht na hÉireann. Leagfar béim ar chúrsaí aistriúcháin sa tionscadal seo agus ar an dóigh a roghnaítear agus a n-aistrítear téacsanna liteartha faoi chearta an duine ó theanga go chéile.
Tabharfaidh an tionscadal taighde seo léargas úrnua, ilteangach, agus comparáideach ar an réimse idirdhisciplíneach léinn a bhaineann le cúrsaí litríochta agus cearta an duine.
