Currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Microbiology Department of NUIG. Previously, worked as a postdoctoral fellow Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta - Canada, investigating doable strategies to improve methane production from domestic and industrial wastewaters. PhD in Microbiology and Environmental Technology at Wageningen University - The Netherlands, in which I studied the utilization of sulfur-reducing microorganisms for the precipitation and recovery of heavy metals from industrial wastewaters. MsC in Civil Engineering at Federal University of Ceara - Brazil, with focus on Environmental Sanitation, studying microalgae community from waste stabilization ponds to improve the biodiesel yield from those ecosystems. Biologist at State University of Ceara - Brazil, where I studied viral hepatitis. 
 A high-skilled, self-motivated and confident microbiologist PhD with extensive experience on chromatography, such as HPLC, IC, GC, molecular biology, such as PCR, qPCR, genomics, proteomics, and enzymatic assays. Possessing excellent counselling, listening and general communication skills, along with the ability to communicate complex information about scientific issues in an understandable form to students or general audience.
